I'm so annoyed I could spit!!! It was Tom's birthday last Saturday. We bought him a Wii as he has been an absolute star since Anya was born (put up with being dragged from pillar to post for a fortnight while we were in hospital). I knew he wanted a Wii but he never mentioned it once as he knows money is a bit tight at the moment.

Anyway, my mum asked for idea's for a pressie. I asked if she would get him another controller for the Wii, she said she would. So she got it on Thursday 1st May, posts it Special Delivery on the 2nd of May and it's Tom's birthday on the 3rd May. (That annoyed me cos my sisters youngest is on the 2nd May so she has plenty of notice about Tom's birthday). Pressie never arrived. Spoke to her yesterday and she checked online - says they tried to deliver and left a card. No they didn't. Turns out she's sent it to the wrong address - AGAIN!!! We've been here for 3 years!!!!!

Went to where she'd sent it to - they're on holiday so couldn't ask for the card. Asked mum for the Special Delivery number to try and get it from the sorting office, what does she do???? Doesn't ring/text or email it - she's bloody posted it to me!!!!!!! She'll have the pressie back by Monday as they only keep Special Delivery for a week!!!!!

I know we live 90 miles away (and there's a good reason for that) but she runs round after my sisters 4 kids like a demented chicken and she can't even get Tom's pressie to him. She's been to see Anya once. Once!!! Why??? Because it's too cold up north - we're just outside Manchester and she's in Nottingham. Quite happy for me to drag a baby and an 9 year old up and down the motorway though.

Sorry - just needed to rant a bit there.
xx

oooh!! i know exactly how u feel! my mum lives literally 10 mins away in the car she hasnt seen any of her 4 grandkids since crimbo and still txts us asking why WE havent been up to get there easter eggs as there sat there waiting... WHY THE FCUK cnt she pop over and see the bloody kids!!! makes me soo mad cos she goe round tellin everyone how wonderful they are and how close she is with them... she has caravan in ingoldmells none of the kids have seen it! sorry to hijack i just know exac how u feel!

It does feel like my 2 are an afterthought!!! My mum has pussy-footed around my sister for the last 24 years since my dad died. She starts crying and says she's depressed and my mum dances to her tune. Not so depressed it stopped you having 4 kids!!!

Arghhhh - I could really swear!!!!!

A rant shared....................

yup! my mum seems to love the kids on her precious caravan site never mind she has 2 6 yr olds and 2 baby grandsons here i wish my nan was around she wud give her a gud hiding lol!

there all the bloody same, my eldest daughters grandparents live 5 & 10 minutes away and the grandmother hasnt seen ash in 4 years yet she jumps on a plane and visits her grandkids who now live in the shetland isles quite reguarly!!

Hmm I know how you feel with this one. My parents live about 20 minutes away from me by car (which they have) but haven't seen my kids since my grand daughter was christened back in January. Dad says to me keep in touch won't you to which I replied it works both ways you know. They haven't been to my house in over 8 years. I always go over there

Families eh?? Who would have 'em!!

Can I join in - but with a twist - I live on an Island - 40 min flight away from UK or 2.5 hours on a boat - and there are regular flights and boats and my folks live 20 mins from the airport / ferry. I dont have children of my own - but one 20 year old step daughter who now has her own place. However, I do have a brother with 2 children who live in Spain - hours from the nearest airport etc ....

Funny how my mum and dad can manage to get out to see my brother in spain on a regular basis throughout the year - but havent made it over here to seem me in ... now let me see .... almost 4 years ! I know my mum is scared of horses - but come on !
