My fell pony merlin is colicking and I'm waiting for the vet who is an hour away. Please can I have some famous horse and hound vibes please :'( x

Thank you. We have lost a lot of horses around rhe the area with atypical myopathy. Does anyone know what the first symptoms are please?

I found this on a vet site on internet.

The most obvious clinical sign is the sudden onset of stiffness and weakness in the grazing horse. This may be accompanied by any combination of the following signs: dark coloured urine, red or purple mucous membranes (gums), depressed demeanour, muscle tremors, difficulty to stand or walk, difficulty breathing, low body temperature and collapse.

Hope vet arrives soon.

Thank you soooo much everyone. It was spasmodic colic. He is fine now after a couple of injections. Off to do another check in a minute but he should be ok now. They do like to worry us don't they?! Thank you again it really helps to read everyone's messages

Glad to hear he is doing well. xx
They do like to worry us don't they. Herbie is lame. I found him hopping behind this morning. I'm hoping to find a puss filled poltice tom.

Good news, although I'm sure you probably won't get much sleep tonight. I have a pony that gets it around once a year and end up getting up every couple of hours just to check him. Hope he's right as rain tomorrow. xx

Hope Herbie is ok Laura. How is he today?

I checked him through the night and he was fine thank goodness. No sign of any colic today so hopefully it's all done and dusted. Going to watch him especially when it's wet and mild.

Thank you again for everyones support :) xx
