Hi,
I have a horse who gets very warm in the trailer even in the winter and was wondering if anyone could recommend a fan for cooling her down.

Thanks in advance.

So...
No replies so I thought I would put up what I have found out.

12 volt fan at least 8 inches diameter, wall mountings so you can fix it to the trailer, electric cables to crocodile clips on to a leisure battery which needs to be protected from any damp.

Wish me luck :)

Good luck! I didn't see your original post, but sounds like you've found a possible solution. Not sure if it would be appropriate in your case, but iirc someone posted on here not too long ago about rigging up a trailer cam to the electrics for the trailer's interior light, meaning in your case that the fan would run off the car battery when hitched up. Not sure if it would suit you, but would mean that you didn't have to keep charging a separate battery (and wouldn't have to find a way to fix one to the interior floor of the trailer).

I wired a camera into the light fitting of our trailer, so you should be able to do this with the fan. Make sure you put a fuse in line with the positive feed and you will need to have the side lights on so that there is power to the trailer. If you connect the cables using scotch locks make sure that you do it on the input side of the light switch so that you don't have to have the light on at the same time, and incorporate a simple switch (if the fan doesn't have one). It's not as complicated as it sounds. If you go the battery route (which is what I have done with our new trailer camera) you don't need a leisure battery. The gel batteries sold as back-ups for burglar alarms and tracker devices would be much smaller, lighter and safer. A 12 volt 7 amp hour battery would be about the size of three stacked paperbacks and would run the fan for around 5 or 6 hours depending on the power of the fan.
