Hello!

I have a Tamaskan dog show at the end of May and have just been informed there is a fancy dress class :D Most of you know I love being creative, but the problem is, I can't think of anything!

I have a couple of ideas, but none of them are really that good!

This is me and the doggie, Tamriel! She's grown a LOT since the 2nd picture :P

My 2nd question is - does anyone know how to get your dog into the film industry? 2 Tamaskans (who I'm actually meeting up with today! So will ask the owner too) are going to be in the new Huntsman movie, they really look the part! When Tamriel is older and look even more wolfy, I bet she would be great at "acting"! She's so clever and picks up commands really quickly.
Maybe someone knows of a training class/school you can go to? Or tricks they would have to learn?

For film work you need to have a rock solid temperament as a film set is a very busy and strange place. Your stays must be perfect and a speak on command is often required. Most animal agencies use their own handlers for insurance purposes and they will train any extra behaviours required. Try contacting A1 animals to see if they are interested in your dog. Sue one of the trainers is fab and I trust her with any of mine.
Inca was in 102 Dalmatians, Juno was in 102 Dalmatians and little Britain, maya was in a dyson advert.

Brilliant! Thank you. At the moment she is still shy, but getting better by the day! Her stays are about 70% I'd estimate. But she is only 4 months old and we're working on all her commands all the time :)

You definitely need a confident dog for film work and really good, solid basic commands. My Teasel did several films and TV adverts, she loved doing it, but my other dog is not so confident, so as much as he has the perfect look for it and is very trainable, he doesn't do it as he is wary of strangers and new things.

As well as film consider contacting TV producers who specialise in animal and nature documentaries or advertising. We've got some work later this year for the company that made Secret Life of Dogs and my agility instructor's dogs feature in the current Purina Adventuros advert. :)

A very useful thing to teach would be a paw and/or nose touch and also a sendaway to a target/mark on the floor, with a rock solid stay on the mark.

No idea, but sounds as if there are some experienced people on here.

I just wanted to say what a fascinating looking dog, not a breed I have heard of, so, off to Google that now.

Interesting, the pictures I found have them looking very wolf like, here, they would easily be mistaken for coy-wolves.
