There's a fancy dress gymkhana at my yard after Christmas and I'm feeling very in the spirit (VERY unlike me who normally pooh-poohs fancy dress!). So far Ronnie the horse is going as a tree, but I'm going to be the fairy on top (haha less fairy more heavy lump I hear you say!).

I'm stuck for ideas. I don't want to buy an already made fairy outfit as I'd rather make it if possible. I can't find any suitable fairy pictures though; most of them wouldn't be suitable for a cold winter's day on a horse. Has anyone got any great suggestions?????

Thanks in advance...

white tights, tutu (come on, every girl wants to wear a tutu at least once in her life!), ideally in baby pink or white, white top, lots of silver glitter, silver star on the end of your whip. silver wings are optional, i guess.
if you can't face a tutu, why not try to get a very cheap secondhand white wedding dress from a charity shop?
what a great idea for an outfit, good for you!

Oh brilliant thank you. I seriously lack imagination. I think someone else must have got my share at birth!

I'm going to try and find a tutu hehe. I can't wait to get some pictures of us, we're going to look soooo silly

Or go to local charity shop, buy white net curtain and set to with scissors. I did great costume using net curtain as a skirt, cut it into lots of sections so it was easy to wear, sort of sewed it onto an old belt (could staple if you can't be doing with sewing!), that way you can have it any length and it's easy to bung some glue on and add silver glitter. Could probably make your own wings with 2 wire hangars covered in net curtain too, but easier to buy from somewhere like Claire's accessories for a few quid. Don't forget lots of tinsel on horse too!
