well its not out the oven yet!! haha but its crossed between TB and ID so will be a big one!! the ID is chesnut and stallion is dap grey. so no idea what it will come out like! if thats any help!?! lol

Personally (preparing to get shot down) I find it incredibly trashy to have a "posh" show name, with no reason other than"to sound posh". It reminds me of the kids on estates with kids called Chardonnay and mercedes!

Go for something related to the time of year, where it was born, its parents, your heritage etc.

My horse is called Shah Zadeh (Prince) because I am Iranian

Do you know if it is going to be a boy or girl?

it's going to be hard to find a name that will suit a he/she

"saffron" relates to the chesnut colour of the mare, so really you're going to have to wait and see what colour it comes out (unless you have an idea from looking at other offspring?)

no,no not a showy look at me sort of trashy name just a nice one that sounds nice, not sure wat its gunna be yet but any sugestions on mum and dads name would be cool!?

all of his ofsping have mostly come out dap grey but some have come out bay, or whatever the mum was i think. her offspring caim out bay last time she was bred from, so im hoping it will come out chesnut!!

One small request... please don't make it too long. I was helping in the secretaries tent in June and was cursing people who use really long names - I couldn't fit the names in the boxes provided on the class lists!

and something you can can pronounce over a loud speaker too, ...preferably something that doesn't sound like something else that is embarrassing if it they get it wrong

My favourites are Manhattan Skyline and Hudson Bay. I am thinking of competing my WB horse under one of those names as his real name is Bailey and his passported name is USA pronounced You Sir which the judges translates as USA as United States of America which drives me crazy. I used to have a horse called Maltissimo which they used to annouce on the Tannoy as "Miss ____ riding her own Maltesser!" Euurgh!!

One I heard recently was ' Daddy's Overdraft ' Thought it was a brill name.

I second making the name easy to pronounce and to spell for us show/event secretaries!

yes, freinds imported a nice jumper from spain, was called Jesus...he got sick of explaining ITS PRONOUNCED HERSOOOS EVERYONE!!

but you could still see his lips muttering 'its pronounced hersooos' to himself as it came over the tannoy 'x..riding Jesus...'

Haha, I don't think it's just funny show names that com eout wrong on a loud speaker..

..friend of mine entered her horse as "blue rush" at a little unaff comp - they pronounced it as Bog Brush over the tannoy!
