Hiyall!
I think i need to explain the title of this post!
blush.gif

im getting a new horse (if she passes the vetting!), but there is one problem... she is called Fanny! I'm at a total loss for inspiration when it comes to renaming horses, so help needed please!
to tell u a bit about her she is a 16.3 dark bay holstiner mare. all ideas welcome!
thanx!

I don't hink it even needs to sound the same as her old name as long as you are consistent in what you call her from the first day you have her.

I changed Daisy's name from Kalla when we got her and it didn't matter. She definitely knew her old name and she definitely knows that I call her Daisy, I've always thought that they respond more to the tone and inflection than the actual name. If they're bonded to you then they will respond to what you call them

LOL i considered leaving it as fanny! i would pay to see the shocked faces of the pony club mothers! pmsl

Loads of great surgestions guys (lol tranny!:D) keep um cumin n il choose the one i like most!!! xxx

It doesnt really need to sound the same. I changed Barons from Silk

I really didn't think Silk suited a 16.3 gelding. He responded to it from day 1.

Good luck with your new horse.

Had a horse called fanny once, we called her fantastic fanny, nothing better than shouting across the showground "anyone seen my fantastic fanny! Turns a few heads thats for sure!!!!
