Sorry in advance for long self indulgent post

Popped Pidge over a couple of small fences on Saturday evening and he was motoring
crazy.gif
didn't realise either how nerve wracking it was jumping him again as its been over 2 months since I last jumped him!
Went to Somerford Park with sis on Sunday and met up with L154XX and her friend to go round the Winter Farm Ride, 5.5miles all on sand and optional XC fences 2'-3' high.
Had an absolute ball, Pidge was feeling very well and refused to trot through the woods or uphill and insisted on cantering - brakes what are brakes
tongue.gif
Popped him over a couple of the smaller XC fences and did a total of 9 and he was fab
smile.gif
much better than in April so I can only assume his hock was hurting then
frown.gif
Just can't believe the difference in him, got my old horse back

Sis had a good day as she popped some of the larger fences on Sunny and was chuffed to bits
smile.gif

It was so nice to meet up with Lisa again, and Pidge and Sunny say thanks for the carrots, much appreciated
grin.gif

Then had the back lady out to Pidge last night (thanks for the recommendation Patches
smile.gif
) and there wasn't really much wrong with his back
smile.gif
there was something wrong with his back just in front of his hindquarters which she has sorted out, and given me some exercises to do daily. This hopefully will have freed up his hindquarters and should enable me to work him properly easier, time will tell
smile.gif

So all in all a fab day yesterday, am absolutely knackered today and could just fall asleep at my desk but hey ho! Just had to share a great day, cookies if you got this far
grin.gif

Sounds like you had a great weekend there & very glad to hear the lovely Pidge is back to his old self! lol
How far away is Somerford Park? Was it a Fun Ride or did you just go there!

Our weekend was somewhat less exciting - MD took the Baggage to the ford (yes, all the way down the main road! lol) to play in its lovely floodedness (yes, i know that's not a real word!), pony was good as gold!
BB came home so dry, relaxed & not sweaty we couldn't believe she'd actually been anywhere & MD had to show us all her soggy socks before we'd believe that she wasn't just making it up! lol

Did Pidge have his posh double bridle on?
grin.gif

thankees am still grinning now
smile.gif
just got my fingers crossed that he doesn't go lame as when I trotted him up for the back lady he was bringing his hind leg underneath him, but then he had done a lot during the day
frown.gif
she tried to explain about the muscles etc making this happen but I didn't really understand
crazy.gif

Hi ya Jane
smile.gif

Somerford Park is just off J18 of the M6 so only takes an hour to get there - 35mins on motorway, 20 minutes getting through Stafford
mad.gif
Farm ride you just ring and book, £14 but take as long as you want as if you want to do one jump more than once you can do. Pidge also had a good play in the stream, long drink, then dunked 1/2 his head under the water
shocked.gif
strange boy and then pawed for ages
smile.gif
Took him in his snaffle as I've worked out it doesn't really matter what bit he's in to be honest
crazy.gif

Whereabouts is the ford? there's one round the lanes over bradley way but not really that deep and I like letting them play in water. Glad the baggage is being good do you want to swap for a rather keen Pidge
tongue.gif

Somerford Park sounds like great fun - if we can ever get BB into a trailer again, we might give it a go!
laugh.gif

Glad you had a great day Sue.

When's the next trip there? I am soooooo going to tag along next time!
grin.gif

Great to hear his back was ok and you were pleased with RC. I think she's brilliant.

Thanks Clare, we had a fab time and I am still over the moon with how Pidge coped
smile.gif

Forgot to look at free dates today but will do so tomorrow, what day suits you better sat/sun or weekday?
RC is lovely
smile.gif
and is coming back in about 10 days to do a reassessment which I think is really good. Plus she is near here quite often as one of her friends lives in Eccleshall which is only 10-15 mins away. Pidge certainly enjoyed what she did to him
grin.gif

Glad to hear Pidge is back jumping and that you had fun!

I had RC out to do Brooklyn & Marco today ... she mentioned she had just seen someone else recommended from HHO! Marco is tons better from just a couple of her treatments so she didn't need to do anything more with him ... hope Pidge is the same!

We really enjoyed it too!! And so pleased we did'nt even get wet! I was knackered last night, ended up in bed at 9pm!!!

Pidge looked absolutely fab yesterday, and loved every minute of it, as did Sunny, he was brill! Chris was so chuffed jumping that house!

We will have to take some pics and vids next time!!
grin.gif

thanks we had lots of fun!
Ah she said she had 17 to do today - small world isn't it
grin.gif
she seems tons better than the other back people we've used so will be sticking with her
smile.gif
I hope Pidge will be better as he obviously uses himself differently because of the hock spavin.

we were lucky to load them when we did
grin.gif
thanks again for helping load Pidge, much appreciated
grin.gif

Didn't get to bed till after 10pm as went for a balti as had worked up an appetite! Been yamning all day at work and could have quite easily slept this afternoon
shocked.gif
thanks was chuffed to bits with Pidge, still can't believe we didn't trot - how keen was he
tongue.gif
think I'll just give up on the brakes
smirk.gif
How is May today? Can never quite get over how small she is in real life (compared to Pidge) as she always seems so big in pictures. I suppose I've just got used to Piglet size horses
smirk.gif

when do they start work on your living area? will try to remember to sort a date out for the next Somerford outing where hopefully I can jump more and bigger on Pidge
smile.gif
Patches wants to come as well if that's ok with you?

I'm still shocked my horse has brakes!! She trotted when asked, came back from flat out gallop to pop the tyres nicely! Shame she has hormones too!! Lil tinker!

Gave her the night off tonight, she had lots of attention and scratching while I tried to poo pick the field tonight.

No one has got back to me on dates for doing living yet, would imagine at least two or three weeks thou. At least the horsey bit is all done, so useable.

That would be great to meet Claire next time, lets get a weekend sorted and booked.

I know, we were going way too fast for the tyres
blush.gif
think our brakes have gone to May
grin.gif
what's trot anyway
smirk.gif
your night sounds the same as ours, quick groom and rug, feed and poo pick - oh the joys of having a horse
smirk.gif

Your lorry is going to be very nice when all done, will have to up my game I think
grin.gif
or perhaps just clean mine
grin.gif

Will email today some suitable dates and would be really nice if Clare came as well
