Fantastic Devon Farrier

Had to post to say thank you thank you thank you to my farrier - Paul Dean, Based in Great Torrington devon but covering down to Okehampton and across to North Devon. He has to be one of the best farriers around, great shoeing, very approachable, totally reliable, extremely puncutal and actually answers his phone.

My horse managed to get cast on Sat in a gateway, in getting himself free he has cut his hind legs and ripped a shoe off taking a huge chunk of shoe with it. I sent Paul a text on Sunday morning, got a response back an hour later and he has the shoe back on. Paul was really patient with him, taking time because his legs were stiff and sore. He then agreed to come and meet my new yearling and introduce himself so it doesn't come as too much of a shock when he has his fist trim in 2 weeks time

So Devon people - if you are struggling with an unreliable farrier who keeps you waiting, you are always loosing shoes, or you are just not happy please Pm me and I will let you have his number.

(worth having him over for the looks as well - luckily he doesn't come on HHO)

It's lovely to hear praise for a good farrier, everybody seems to rant about farriers in general. I too have a wonderful farrier, and they deserve thanks.

Well done you for finding one and giving them praise, it is all too easy toname and shame or have a moan.

I am changing farriers at the mo so fingers crossed all goes well re next shoeing!
 
Oooo I wonder if he'd come up to arlington... clives a bit... well haphazard at times. Plus he said for years our shire can't have quater clips due to classic shire cracks (which he does, never bothered him) but now apparently he can! the specialist "shire" shoes were much more expensive of course.
 
I have a fantastic Devon farrier too, further south than you, not going to name him though as he'll get big headed!
