Found loads of off road hacking very close to yard that I didn’t know about. Various tracks round fields and through trees with a lovely stretch along a stream. I have been hacking round this area for 4 years and was walking straight passed it! Robin loved it. Although we were having a lovely trot along when a tree stump jumped up and went “rarrrrr” at him so he did his spook leap move which left me defying gravity thinking it is too far to walk home so I’m staying on!

Sounds great! I wish I had good hacking near me, most of the bridleways have now been hardcored. After an incident when I was younger I now hate hacking on the roads as it scares me and my boy is notoriously a bit of a pleb on the road (due to me not doing it with him!) and I have to go on the road to get to any off road hacking. The other day I went on my first solo hack in many years (all be it my fiancé was walking with me!) but I really enjoyed it!

Lovely post. A neighbour of mine has recently found walks he'd never known about which has been a positive from the lockdown. Due to the numbers of walkers coming to our village now, he'd been looking for quiet places to walk his German shepherds and found some of our local gems.
Unfortunately, our hacking is fairly limited and no amount of scanning OS maps and searching gamblers and cyclists webpages has unearthed any little known routes.
