Had my instructor up today for a lesson and the objective was to get me properly onboard Tilly! Not only is T in season (and she flirts like a total tart when she she's seasonal
) but it was up at the local school, where she's only been once before, complete with 5 excited geldings along 3 sides of the arena
But T was a star as always and other than one "Oh, look at me boys!!" moment she was perfect.
It was brilliant. We started with some lunging while she settled (which took all of 2 mins
) and then Ros longreined her for a bit. She was quiet as a mouse so Kiri got on first (yes I am a whimp and was ****ing myself
) and had a little walk and trot and then it was my turn
Call me strange but I find the prospect of working in a school far more terrifying then going out on the roads so I was a little nervous to say the least, especially as today was the first time she'd been ridden in the school. But Ros was lovely, kept her on the lungeline the whole time and only let me go out on the end of the lunge when I felt happy with it all
I needn't have worried
Tilly was a total babe, I even trotted a few large circles and loved every minute - not once did I feel like she was going to explode which was a huge confidence boost
And to finnish off I hacked her home
So a very, very happy Ginn tonight! Poor pony was shattered by the time we got home and literally fell asleep on my chest
Probably very boring for most of you but felt I had to share with someone
