Woke up to the snow blizzarding outside. Looks like hunting won't be on tomorow! Praying that it goes away soon, really don't want to miss Christmas Eve, Boxing day and New Years day meet... Christmas just wouldn't be the same! I'm really annoyed as this is the first year I have had a horse that I can go out and hunting loads for full days and the snows just messed that right up!

And what is annoying me even more is all my school friends are posting all over facebook "YAYYY ITS SNOWINNNN !!!" and I am just like, oh frog you! Then I start ranting to them about how bad they would feel if one of their family members died or had a serious accident because of the snow etc. and how many horses are dying because of it etc. and hope they feel a little bad aha. But then they just say, you only don't want it to snow so you can go and kill little innocent foxes.. so niave! Really fustrates me!

Rant (temporarily) over!

Finally someone who feels exactly the same as me!!! It frustrates me so much when facebook is full of status' full of excitement about a bit of snow.. if they had to work outside in it or had your weekends scuppered by it they wouldnt be feeling the same! And then them saying it is good because it is saving the foxes... rubbish. PRAYING the cold snap is over quickly so we can at least be out for New Years Eve! :D

I agree! I have been looking forward to the Boxing Day Mock hunt for months! I have been making a point of hacking out the bitch mare in rain and howling gales so she is fit enough for next weekend but now she hasn't been ridden for 3 weeks so now isn't fit enough to go :(

Another problem is the fit horses unable to be ridden because of the frozen ground resulting in extreme hyperness!

Agh yes, my TB is hyper enough in the winter even ridden everyday, luckily on the days we can ride, I get Dad to ride him and I ride the little clockwork, always good as gold ponio :') she's just fun when she jogs! My Dad seems to think that if it doesn't snow again we might be able to get out for Christmas Eve here in Somerset... fingers crossed he is right :/ x

In south Lincolnshire we had another few inches of snow overnight so our chances are practically zero :(

We went on foot at the weekend, I was so cold I went inside to have a drink. I want to be back on board now, I'm a bit bored of the weather, and meets on foot are just leading to me drinking too much... ;) .

Aha well I am rather lazy and absolutely hate the cold and snow so I don't know whether I could see myself going on foot... and I would be so embarrassed because I don't think I would be able to recognise anyone without them being on their horses and without a hat on!

Also on the drinking part, I'm 14 and despite lots of the hunters promising they won't tell my Dad, if on foot I don't think I could get away with it!

I'm a hunt groom and I am very bored! They went out on foot today and ran down the kennels drive, all the horses were getting very excited and wanted to go and join them. I want to go out on my little mare too...

No tack cleaning is even better! Oh and at least I can go out for a drink knowing I don't have to get up really early and then get carted round the country looking for them on 2nd horse xx
