FAO Jingle_Bels and everyone who posted about Bob acting odd :)

I think we have discovered what was wrong ! well the reason hes not eating but he is still transfixed by something in the distance

Anyway he had a cut right at the back of his mouth that was infected

Vet said its odd he still ate hay/grass but hey ho atleast we know whats wrong now. Just got to get him to eat his bute and antibiotics

I think hes feeling better in himself though as today he had a little mad moment in the field ...

AND omg im so ashamed of Bobs manners

the vet had to come while i was at college as it was urgent and he had no other free appointments Unfortunatly Bob doesnt really like strangers coming into his stable...especially men

and im told it took 2 doses of sedative ...a twitch... 2 strong men and about an hour before they could just get the gag on to look in his mouth

and even then he reared so many times they lost count

Vet said hes never seen a horse as determined as Bob ..not sure if thats good or bad

Hes never been bad before so i will put it down to the pain and pray next time he doesnt squish the vet

Thanks for the update I too was wondering how he was. I find it extraordinary how horses can react to pain, mine had his teeth done just over a week ago and had 2 sores in his mouth which took a while to settle afterwards, took him 4 days to get back to eating normally again and he's as tough and thick-skinned hardy native as they come! Mine too hates those of the male persuasion especially if they are coming to do his teeth on top of that!

He has had 4 days of antibios (well just about seen as he didnt eat all of his tea some days) and today has eaten everything in his bucket for once but still not quite with his usual enthusiasm ! but after that run around the field and the bits i didnt get on camera im hoping he is on the mend

Poor boy has dropped alot of weight though

dont think his saddle will fit

still atleast its easy to put back on lol!
