There was a very sad post on a local Facebook page from someone whose three parrots died on the same evening due to a self-cleaning oven. During the cleaning cycle these ovens reach very high temperatures and give off Teflon fumes.. Most parrot owners know about Teflon but in the ovens it is far less obvious.
The fumes can also make humans ill, so I presume all pets are at risk.

How awful.

I can remember watching that documentary (Poisoning America https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0bs68rr) about DuPont and Teflon and on it they talked about how when they were making C8 at the DuPont factory how flocks of birds would fall out of the sky dead and hit the factory roof due to the fumes. I think the new film 'Dark Waters' is about DuPont/Teflon/C8 too.

It's not just teflon but any kind of air pollutants. I dont use sprays, air fresheners, plug ins etc because of the risk to the parrots delicate respiratory systems x
