Had put some "items" in pony's field today while having a sort out. Among these was an old bucket that had been used for soaking sugar beet, and an old mucking out bucket.

He wandered over, tentatively checked nothing was going to eat him, then walked up to each item in turn to examine. Sugar beet bucket got his approval; picked it up and wandered around with it for a bit. Put it down and went to check out the mucking out bucket, took one sniff, span around and booted it! Obviously offended by the smell!

Probably had to be there, but he does make me smile. After years of relatively boring horses it's nice to have a pony around again, they always seem to have more personality!

The 15.3 Appy is a pony trapped in a horses body :D We left the mounting block/step thing in the field the other day, all four of the mares went for a look, but the Appy was the only one who thought it would be funny to put her nose under the edge and turn it over, not once but twice! :D I know what you mean about too much personality :)

The nearly 17 hand Appy x is the same! left OH mucking out the stable yesterday with Vardi tied up outside and went off to poo pick the field, came back 20 mins later stable still very much unmucked out and Vardi and James playing with the stable door, James was pushing it open and Vardi was putting nose down and pushing it towards James this went on for another 15 minutes until I pointed out that maybe we ought to work the horse!

But I have long thought that Vardi is in Fact not Appy X WB but Appy x Golden Retreiver!
