Awww - thanks for asking. She's recovered really well and the Vet is really pleased with her. She's actually a very good patient and didn't get silly when first turned out on the hillside (I electric fenced off a smaller area to start with), which was a great relief. :)

Im so glad its good news... Just in time for xmas! I bet you held your breath when you first turned her out!!! My lads got at least 12 more weeks before i will be wrapping him in cotton wool and releasing him in the field!!!

She looks very sweet, i hope the rest of the recovery goes to plan and that u'll be back on board soon enough :)
 
I hope the 12 weeks go well and that he's sensible when turned out. They are such a worry.

I look forward to photos of your happy, sound horse munching grass. :)

When she hurt herself as a two year old, she was sedated by the Vet (injection) before turnout. She had to be pushed and pulled by us to get her from the stable to the field.

This time she wasn't 'box rested' in a stable but put in a tiny area in the flattest paddock. I had to move the fence daily to give her a fresh bit of ground, but it worked really well. I didn't sedate her when she was moved out of the small area to part of the field as she was very calm. But I did wonder if she'd gallop to the top of the hill once she had the whole field when the fence was taken down there.

Basically, I just slowly gave her more room, so there wasn't a sudden change.

I should add that she has to have a grill on her stable, as she has jumped out in the past.
 
Thanks bless him he's still got one leg bandaged from his surgery as it got infected so when the stitches were removed on monday it hadnt healed :( he's allowed back on the walker as soon as the wound has closed, then he gets rescanned and then hopefully he's allowed out! 6 months in the paddock and then hopefully i can clamber back on board!! Im counting the months away!! :)
 
I tell you if with clever photo editing to remove rug that would make an awesome portrait / poster. Such a kind loving face, have such a soft spot for greys even more so since I lost my girl.
 
Your grey was lovely - I remember the photos you posted of her. :)

A few people I know, who aren't arab fans have all taken a shine to my grey. One of them (at the livery yard I was on before I moved) tried to persuade me to leave the grey behind! :p

Ty hunny, miss so much my life as the song goes is "Forever Autum" now she's not there.

Well if you do I would be over there in a shot to collect her though someone else would have to drive my box while in a cast, but you would not see the dust, we would be in and out in a shot. :)

Glad she is off the box rest now its no fun for them, I have one on box rest and will be for at least two months with pedal ostesis, she does not like being in and I am having to dope her at the moment:(

Ah but that's why she puts all the mud on! It's her gilly suit for hiding with, whilst she takes out would-be assassins with her awesome martial arts! :D Then she sends them off to work making rugs...
