Cattle at a farm in Surrey have been found to be infected with foot-and-mouth disease. A three-kilometre protection zone has been put in place around the premises and a UK-wide ban imposed on movement of all livestock. In accordance with the legislation, all the cattle on the premises will be culled, said a government spokesman.

Thanks,

I was speachless when I heard it on the radio this morning, lets hope DEFRA manage it alot better this time round. fingers crossed it is localised but my heart goes out to the affected farmer/s.

I went cold when I saw this on the news last night. At least they seem to have acted quickly this time so hopefully will be contained. Do they have to start showing all the piles of dead animals from 2001 again?!!

Oh god not again

We were extreamly lucky not to have it on our farm the last time around but we still suffered A LOT due to it, I really do hope it isn't like last time my heart goes out to those who were affected last time and this time around

Lets hope something is done about it asap!
