Do you all pay the annual subscription to Farmkey? Rhyn is being freezemarked in the morning and all the forms they've sent talk about annual subscriptions and say that if I dont pay 5 years worth tomorrow, they will just invoice me annually for my membership.....

I wasn't aware that I had to pay an annual sub as well as paying for the freezemark????

Is this compulsary????

What does everyone else do?

It keeps you up to date on their data base and ensures support if your horse goes missing in that they will help with press and publicity. Mine are up to date but many people don't bother - the freezemark itself is often enough deterrent.

I have just had George freezemarked by Farmkey, if you agree to pay the annual sub by direct debit then it saves you about £3 and works out at something like £12.50 a year and of course you don't need to pay that until this time next year.

If you don't keep your Registration up then you will get no support if your horse goes missing and you have no actual proof that said horse is yours - unless you get your Passport amended to include the Freezemark, so it is a wise person who keeps the registration up-to-date,
