Farrier Apprentice!

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of becoming an apprentice farrier - and am having a few problems, can anyone help?

I'm 33 years old, married and a father! Does anyone think I'm too old? Or if being a father might affect anything ?

I'm also over qualified and am too old for the normal funding! Does anyone know of other sources of funding or have any other ideas on getting funding?

Please help?

The only thing I can think of is most farriers have bad backs at your age. So no go for it, if it's what you want to do,but can you afford the pittance they pay.

Not just that, I'm a fit healthy 21 year old who's been trying to get an apprentaship for 2 years now, after passing my Farrier access course.
