Farrier needed, north Essex, barefoot friendly

Hi all,

Honestly ever since I moved my horses up here I've had trouble with farriers. Current guy is very nice, a really good farrier, very good with the ponies. Unfortunately he's also really unreliable and difficult to get hold of. Gutting I would love to stick with him.

Anyway I really need someone to come out and give mine a trim. Must be quiet, barefoot friendly, and careful and patient with a shetland with a stifle injury. Any suggestions?

Farriers around the area include Steve Rust, Adam Forbes, Ben Duthie, Mikey Sharp. I've had shoes put on various horses by all four, but nothing without shoes.

I've got 5 with no shoes and one with natural balance fronts, very happy with my farrier - Richard Crossley, otherwise another suggestion is Daniel Power, friends use him. Can't say about any of the ones listed above as not used them.

Highly recommend Jackie www.phenomenalhooves.com. She does barefoot only and is excellent with my mini Shetland with leg problems. She would certainly be worth contacting in order to ask her for recommendations but covers most of East Anglia and is very reliable.

I have two barefoot horses, one of which is a shetland with a stifle injury, and my farrier is great with them both. I'm in Colchester, so not sure how far you are, but if you want his details give me a shout.

Not a farrier, but I've heard good things about an EP in the area: Sarah Swallow. I don't have her number but maybe google would help.
