farrier or trimmer in edinburgh area

Can anyone recommend someone who will do a good job of trimming unshod horses? Current farrier just not taking enough off!! I did try one barefoot trimmer but really wasn't great and silly expensive. I wouldn't have minded this if it been a good job!

You don't say who you currently use, so can only give a list of farriers I know of. Have you asked the farrier you use at the moment why, in your eyes, he's not taking enough off?

He is in Orkney - but he travels down to Blackpool for us as we couldn't replace him when he moved to Orkney - no one else will do!

I wouldn't recommend Ian Marshall or Geoff, but Ian Gyjack and Rhuaradhi are both fantastic.

Rhuaradhi has been trimming my sister youngster since she was a baby, through problems that caused a box foot and operation to correct and still does her. He was more concerned about it than the vet was.

I think this post is too personal. My OH is a farrier (not on any list here) so I have an opinion on this, and I don't think people should say who they wouldn't recommend. The OP should discuss with the current farrier why the feet don't look the way the OP thinks they should.
