farrier sugestions please.

My Mare has pedal osteitis and i feel i am getting no where with my farrier! i am looking for a farrier that has good knowledge of the condition,i had a farrier last year that crippled her and we had all sorts of problems with her as they seem to want to trim the foot right back but she can't cope with that and ends up crippled.

West Midlands area not bothered about cost.
 
Can you narrow down west midlands? or pm the area to me thanks.

try Kelvin Lymer at Sandpitt Forge - he's very knowledgeable

Don't know where you are but he's based just north of Worcester - I know he travels to Sutton Coldfield and out to the north cotswolds, so try him!

Kelvin doesn't shoe very much - but all his lads are trained by him and if you explain the problem, he'll send you the most experienced - try asking for Paul. (I think he's still there - been working with Kelvin since the early 90s)

Alan Woodyatt used to shoe for me when he was down here and is good too

Alan Bailey is a remedial farrier and takes on all sorts of work, not sure where he is based but he travelled to the dressage yard I worked at in Warwick every 5-6weeks. He really is the best of the best. The main farrier who did all of the other horses on the yard that didn't need special work said he would take anything Alan said as gospel.
PM me if you want his number. He isn't cheap though.
