Phoned farrier to say horse was slightly lame he said may be laminitis. So brought him in gave him bute. Phoned farrier again and he said there was really nothing he could do. Just give him enough hay to keep him ticking over. A few years ago horse was being shod by different farrier and he said he was heading for laminitis. He was in a good field so stabled him for few days and he was fine. No trouble since this week. Had vet out Friday,Vet said that his shoes were too small and get farrier asap and turn him out. Phoned him Thurs & fri and he did not get back to me although he said he would be in area.Fri night and he said he could come early or late Mon. Went today and he is worse on one leg after being in field.Would you have expected your farrier to come out Sat. Vet said to turn him out. Went
today and he is worse on one leg. Ver said to me that farriers dont have overhang on heel of sgoe because if they live a fair distance away they dont want to come lout for one lost shoe. what do you think should I change to a farrier nearby
