Does anyone know of one? My friend's horse is barefoot all round and could do with a good trimmer, while I have just pulled the back shoes off my horse and my farrier is very anti-barefoot. Not for my horse in particular, but for every horse on the planet.

If we could find someone who could come out for both of us, that would be perfect.

Any recommendations?

I should have done it years ago but I knew I was going to get flack from the farrier and yard owner, both of whom are against barefoot because it's just not how things are done. An abcess caused by the horse twisting a hind shoe half off and standing on the clip finally got me to make the decision. And of course the yard owner and farrier think I'm now insane (vet, however, thinks it's a good idea). It's all kind of a hassle dealing with these people now.

CI because I can't see the other thread my reply re boots
1) you may well not need them, plenty don't behind and I wouldn't worry about it straight off until I got an issue
2) if you do need them you probably need them to be of tighter fitting type, the shop people are usually good at recommending. The one I know that twists them twists renegades (but a bit short in the hoof for him), and cavallos but is doing fairly good in scoots for instance.

Today was her first day being g ridden barefoot behind. She was happy in the arena, happy on tarmac, but ouchy on the wee bit of gravel between the main yard car park and the road. I guess that's to be expected.
