Does anyone know of any good farriers in the Wolverhampton/Albrighton area or there abouts? We're moving our horses over that way (very near to Kingswood EC) within the next few weeks and need a good farrier as ours can't travel out that far. They need to be experienced in remedial work as my friends TB has particularly bad feet and re-occurring abscesses which require corrective shoeing and my TB hasn't got great feet either. Has anyone got any experience of farriers over that way, or who will travel out that way? Thanks in advance

I am sorry I can not recommend any farriers in your area - but I see someone has very kindly posted a list of reg farriers near you.....

Can I just say that just cos they are registered does not mean they are very good - when we 1st moved to a new area several years ago and were desperate for our horses feet to be done, we just could not get booked in with any of the farriers who were recommended to us as they were so busy (tells you something when they are so busy!). So we thought we would phone about the farriers which were listed as registered and finally got one to come out - he was incredibly unreliable (even for a farrier) and was greedy for money - told us they needed doing more often than they did etc, which in time could have seriously damaged our horses. He has since been kicked off the register - which tells you what sort of cowboy he was!

I just wanted to share that with you, as I am sure your horses are as precious to you, as ours are to us and would hate for someone else to fall fowl to greedy cowboys playing dangerously with something as important as horses feet.
