Farriery exams pulled - what’s going on?

I’ve just seen this post on Facebook by the Worshipful Company of Farriers (WCF). The Farriers Registration Council (FRC) has withdrawn approval for the level 3 apprentice exams to be run by the WCF. The next set of exams due have been delayed and are to be run by another provider.

Anyone know what the issues are/were? This is a drastic intervention.

Interesting. There definitely must be some issue with the WFC as an EPA provider. Has there been any recent changes to the standards do we know?
We run apprenticeships at our college, and have used a few different EPA providers. We have one that we won’t touch with a barge pole anymore, for reasons I won’t go in to.

Tbh it must be really bad as the farrier council is set in the 1960s with its attitudes to feet and shoeing. The exam is a shoe making exam not an exam on shoeing horses well.
