:eek3: I thought he was going to chop the whole hoof off the way he was hacking away at it. I kept thinking the video was fake. I hope it was fake.

Couldn't believe he cut the hoof to fit the shoe:eek:
I was wincing watching it. My horse has extremely thin soles. That farrier would have hacked right through them.

Regardless of the end result (and I agree, balance looks questionable), I'm not sold on the wisdom of using a draw knife towards your wrists :/

Surprised he's still got two arms!

half education is worse than no education. ..You can see very good farriers at racetracks and international riding centers in Turkey but if you go to suburban of any city you can see something like that. It is a county where blacks and whites together.
Main problem is ignorance of horse owners....

Wow - how has he not either sliced his forearm arteries open by using knives in a towards-him motion rather than away-from-him motion, and how has he not yet been kicked in the face? You'd have to have a massive amount of trust in the rope, the person holding the rope and the horse to put your face that close to a raised hind foot.
