Hi, Anyone had any good or bad experiences with Farrington saddles? I have a flat backed irish cob and need to find a sadde which will suit him. What saddles do people use on their cobs? Thank you

I've got a Farrington show saddle part suede, it's lovely and comfy and fits my girl beautifully. I'm very pleased with the quality and know I could easy get good money for it second hand - but it is in a fairly common size which helps! I didn't go out specifically looking for this brand just a show saddle and this is the one that fitted the best. I think its a case of getting a good farrier to come out and for you to try lots to see what suits your cob and you best.

I have a lovely Farringdon WH saddle that I am thinking of selling.

It is a really nice comfy smart saddle but not ideal for my high withered horse and too small for my long legged husband.

I have an old Farrington GP. It has been altered 3 times for 3 different horses, is at least 20 years old and remains in excellent condition. So comfortable and secure. It is now on a flat backed low withered clyde x RID, cost me £60 for a site visit and alterations/reflocking.

They are not flashy or fashionable but I love my Farrington.

I have a made to measure farrington I think it's a vsd I can't remember but it's straighter cut so I can show in it too!
I love it , I had three saddlers out to fit my horse and two others made to measure which didn't fit her!!
She's a flat backed, very wide, non withered Arab who has a big movement causing most saddles to be pushed forward!!
It cost me more than she did but well worth the money .

Hi, Look at The Saddle Selector web site they stock a wide range of Farrington's saddles both new and second hand. They also do Farrington's show saddles too. The Farrington's Henley is good for cobs.

Hi, Apologies I'm not sure what you mean. Disucssions about Farrington's saddles or the website?

You asked which saddles people use on their cobs, if you use the search function (not easy to find, I hit New Posts at the top, then you can click on Search: and type in the words you want to search on, LOADS on wide and cob saddles on here). You could equally search on Farrington saddles.
