I still find it amazing that certain breeds & colours of horses go in and out of fashion.

I had a friesian years ago and was the only person I knew that had a ridden friesian rather than a driven one....
People used to be scorned at my pony club if they had a colored cob and called Pikey's, these days they sell for huge amounts of money all over the world.
Nobody wanted a Haflinger, cob type or a Norwegian Fjord, and show ponies, TB's and Anglo Arabs were all the rage, then warmbloods, everyone wanted a flashy KWPN or a dapple grey Connemara and no one who wasn't involved with western riding or polo had even heard of a Criollo...

What 'horse' fashions do you remember?

What do you think are the most fashionable breeds at the moment?

I think New Forests are coming in fashion.

I think the size of horses has changed, big horses seem far more fashionable, I'm sure the average size of a eventer or is at least two hands bigger...

Dressage has certainly moved from dainty fine horses to big warmblood.

HARUMPH! I saw the title of this thread and was about to extol the virtues of how fashionable F thinks he is. Colour co-ordinated, brand conscious, wears retro classics, and definately too cool for skool, let alone his embarassing scruffy rider... but then I read the first post properly.

Oh well...
