Fast fibre - soaking in advance

I don't currently, but yes I have before. Every evening after feeding I put a scoop of fast fibre in an old supplement container, added water and it meant in the morning I had a portion of it that I split between the two feeds. Rinse contsiner and do it again.

Yep I do. As first person at yard feeds them all. It's fine, just use lots if water and might need a bit of hot water in the morning if it's really cold as it might go a bit icy

I don't use it anymore as I have moved to simple system but I use to use warm water and it would be ready in 10-15 minuets, so I'd put it to soak while I did the usual clean up and groom and it would be ready for my lads when I came to it.

I have done if others are feeding mine, in winter I like to bring a bit of warm water from home to take the chill off of it

We do - for the same reason as Kezzabell. First person on the yard feeds everyone. In the height of winter I soak with the bare minimum possible of water (to minimise the risk that it will freeze overnight) and try to insulate the buckets in amongst everyone else's. I've never had a problem with ned getting an ice block for breakfast even with sub zero temperatures on yard.

I use to have a small barrel with a screw top lid and use to soak 3-4 days worth of fast fibre in advance in winter when the taps freeze and I never had a problem with the fast fibre freezing either

I make up a bucket of veteran vitality in winter and it usually lasts me 6feeds.

In summer I make up his measure and leave it to soak for the next day and it's perfectly fine.
