My whippet has been unwell for a while. She has lost all the muscle from her head. http://www.merckvetmanual.com/mvm/index.jsp?cfile=htm/bc/91406.htm
Vet thinks this is it, so he prescribed prednisone and antibiotics.
She has been on these for past 4 or 5 days, and now her resp rate is really high. Took her back to vets, he didnt know what was causing it. Said maybe an infection in her lungs. She has never been like this before meds, so not sure what is causing it. Thinks meds are doing it. Will take her back to vets on monday, so in the mean time if any one has experience of this and could advise, i would be appreciative.

Is she showing any other signs at all? coughing? there are many factors that could cause irratic resps in dogs, my dogs had pneumonia for instance as he has Myasthenia Gravis as mentioned in that link with is a neuro muscular disorder, he is now stable, pain, stress, meds, high temperature just to mention a few.

Nothing really. No coughing or anything. I have done a bit of research and know of a few things that can cause this. Its just weird that this has happened after being put on the meds.
