Little Lilli is overweight and I'm determinedly dealing with this but she's really dulll and quiet, she is not trying to kill people which is very unusual. She does have issues with her stifles and trails her back feet, she's eating fine and I gave her a few days of bute with no difference. I'm fairly sure the weight is not helping her back end but her dullness seems a bit odd and not Lilli at all. The farrier kneeled down in front of her a few days ago, normally that would not be a safe thing to do but she didn't bother at all! I'm getting the vet out anyway but just wondered if anyone had any thoughts. She's a 38" ten year old Shetland x cob by the way.

Is she over warm? It is so mild at the moment and ours desperately need clipping. They are much more sprightly when they’re clipped and chilly. We have a mini Shetland on our yard and his coat is so thick.

I think at 38 and with the issues you've mentioned, I would be thinking about giving her a peaceful end if she doesn't perk up in a few days.

I did have a thought about cushings, will ask the vet. Both Lilli and her mum are already mega yaks so will probably do a neck and belly on both so I can avoid rugging.

IrishMilo, you did give me a laugh!
