Have been in the States for the last two weeks and came back to a pony hippo. OH has been going up once in a while, and as he is slightly dim-witted, he didn't realise that it wasn't good for her to be on a field with tons of grass because as I said to YO when I moved her there:
* SHE HAD ARTHRITIS! (In both back hocks, had surgery) and I really should keep her lean (not skinny, but at a slimline pony weight)

I don't really know what to do - I bought a muzzle for her today, but felt so bad as like others, she was being an idiot and looking really sad as it only had a little hole in it.

Just irritated, as mentioned it to YO and she said that she had forgotten that pony was meant to be kept lean - this is the yard where I am going to be leaving the pony in her care when I go to the States in two months to do an MA. Argh.

Didn't get any photos - but she looked horrendous. Going to have to ride her every day, and bite the bullet, just a bit disheartening!

Think this is similar to Arwen's previous post - she is on DIY and is being constantly moved, know the YO has to rotate fields but can't she tell me, and stop putting new horses in with my cripple!

I think i might be looking for a different yard to leave ponio at!! What if the reason she couldnt have grass had been lami?? you could of come back to a dead pony!!

oh dear...i would be looking for another yard pronto...

we are pretty lucky really as we split the fields by grass amount and what each horse requires...taking in to account each horses personaility too.....

Worried as well as YO had said how well she was looking - saying that, the rest are looking a bit more than 'well'. I have now re-mentioned it, and will mention again.

She is a good do-er, and have been lucky thus far re lami - its just I spent 5k on surgery, and don't want it all ruined. Will have to have a good conversation tomorrow (also deciding if she will be staying there, on field livery...forever...poor bugger) and if I am not satisfied, I will have a slightly quirky pony for long term loan available!

If you do leave her in our area I could go by and check her for you like once a month or something if you need someone to keep a horsey eye out.
Is also easy to take pics and email to you so you can feel in touch with things xx

Wouldn't be overly impressed at the YO though to be honest!

- Thanks for offer April. PF - I know - will have to think about other options depending on what she says.
