Other than adding oil to the feed, does anyone know of any fat based supplements to add condition? I may have imagined it but I am sure i have heard of a coconut based supplement which might help. Any thoughts?

Saracen Equijewel, and the one you are possibly thinking of is Coolstance Copra, or something along those lines.

Micronised Linseed from Charnwood Milling is as good as anything and cheaper!

Soya bean meal and linseed are both high oil content...

It would be handy to know more about the horse in question - any history to this weight problem, temperament, workload, current feeding etc then people can make well considered recomendations...

Hi, its a section A pony, she's very fine and has been laminitic previously so is being kept lean for her own safety. Trouble is she is working hard show jumping so is actually starting to look a little poor along the topline. Its that difficult balance - she needs a little weight back on her but not the starch!

Well as she's a littlun that has a history of lami I would look at some of the mollasses free chaffs and maybe something like baileys lo cal balancer? I know of a few who look rather well on it despite it being 'low cal'! or topspec anti-lam or similar?
