anybody else had trouble with the ariat mudbuster tall wellingtons? i had my first pair in september 2011 and within 6 weeks they had split away from the sole along the inner edge. i emailed ariat and was delighted to have another pair sent with theyre sincere apologies . i wear my boots every day for a couple of hours and ride in them for a few hours a week, and then blow me down- 6 weeks later the exact same split on the foot bed happens again! i once again emailed ariat expecting superb customer service --and nothing! not even an email ! i understand this sounds strange and they maybe think im trying it on, but theres a definate fault with these boots and was interested in anyone elses experiences with these boots.

Same thing happened with my although I didn't bother contacting them again after the replacement pair broke along the seam of the boot/sole too. I had my first pair for about 4 months when they gave up the ghost and the replacement pair lasted about 3 months. I now have a pair of bright pink Asda wellies that I bought for £13.99 so am just counting how many days those last!

they do seem to be very poor quality since theyve been making them in china -ive gone back to £4.99 green wellies from the shoe shop. bit gutted tho -expensive rubbish:mad:

A friend of mine who works in the industry told me to avoid Ariat. Like Hunters, the quality is not what it was :(

yeah its made me reluctant to spend that sort of money for something you think will last and be nice, only to be disapointed. i had country boots before and they lasted 3 years so i think i will be getting them again altho they wernt as warm as the ariats, and they wernt even really expensive or a top name.i had them in HOYS for £50 .

I had ariat mudbusters - replaced 3 times by ariat (very helpful peeps there) but I couldn't face faffing with replacing them again after that - so have changed to cheapies. It's a nuisance as the ariats are really comfy and one of the few wellies that stay on my stoopid skinny ankles - but hey ho I guess. Live and learn

OP - what colour were your ariats? It's just I had blue ones to start with then the last pair were green, and the greens seemed to last much longer

Interestingly I have black ones and they have been used every morning and night since October, and no problems as yet.

I had a pair which split so I e-mailed Ariat and got another pair. After only a couple of months this pair have done the same. It's a shame as they're so comfy, but I won't be buying them again - expensive for what they are...I can't be bothered e-mailing Ariat again as the next pair will only do the same!

My mudbusters died too, I was gutted because they were the comfiest, warmest wellies ever, but did not last long enough for the cost of them.
I've just bought some Rok ones from edgemere, and they're really comfy, and were cheap, and they give money to a cancer charity. Apparently Rok make lots of the footwear for the military, so I'm hoping these are going to be quite tough! Worth a look http://www.equestriansuppliesshop.co.uk/products/ROK-Breakthrough-Cancer-Research-Wellies.html

I've had exactly the same issues with mine - Ariat replaced them, and the second pair have gone in the same place. So comfy though, and lovely to be able to ride without changing my wellies. Was really miffed when it happened the first time, blooming livid when it happened again!

Hey ho, cheapies for me from now on

abbeygale mine were both green so im not sure if the colour matters -theyre all RUBBISH!! i havnt even heard from ariat this time.

well would you believe it ive just heard from ariat and the reason all the boots are coming away from the soles is the factory in china changed the rubber recipe:rolleyes: so there is a new pair winging their way to me as i write this:eek:!!!

Can recommend Le Chameau

I bought a pair of Le Chameau wellies last september, by feb both boots had begun to split. I took them back to a month or so later and was given another pair (I could have swapped them for something else if I wanted but they only had Hunters in my price range and have had bad experiences with them also). This pair is fine at the moment and the shop said they've never had a problem before so hopefully it was a bit of bad luck. With regards to ariats, I have a pair of long riding boots which I use for competitions only but I have now owned them for about 4 years and you would never tell. Definitely money well spent!

Sounds like they're customer service has actually been quite good...hopefully you'll see a difference in the quality with the new pair! It is frustrating when they don't last. They're are an equestrian brand at the end of the day and they're products should be able to withstand the wear and tear of being used every day on the yard.

Hi I am just waiting for a third pair now. I bought them back at the beginning of 2012 they split with a few months. I returned them and again about 2 months ago the second pair split. I spoke to the store I bought them from and they said Ariat had a bad batch of these boots. They have actually been really good and they have a new pair out which are all moulded (which they are sending me). Let's hope I get a couple of years out if these ones instead of a few months!!

Ive found their customer service fabulous. I bought a pair 2 years ago and am now on my 3rd replacement pair. All have split along the seam in various places, I have tried blue and green, even tried a half size larger in case it was my foot causing the problem!! I wear mine to walk the dogs and do the horses but only when its too wet for my country boots which are not properly waterproof. The last twice they havent even asked for the faulty pair to be returned, just explained that they had a bad batch of rubber!! Good job they dont work in family planning :)

Mine have just split between the sole and the top part of the boot (if that makes sense!) :( gutted as they are the comfiest boots I've ever had and they are now leaking badly. Only 6 months old too! Is it worth getting intouch with ariat and do you have to pay anything towards the replacements? Wouldn't mind but they cost £90 so it's not as if they were cheap!

I used to work for a shop that sold Ariats and we got a lot of people returning mudbusters due to them splitting. Ariat replaces them straight away without needing a picture or them returned. Good customer service but I often wondered why people didnt ask for a refund after their 3rd pair split or more. One lady told me its because they are so comfy they wouldnt want to have to buy a different make so they put up with having to return faulty pairs every so often. Not sure I could be bothered with the hassle though!

MF, apparently they do have a 12month guarantee, hence me getting a new free pair every 5-6 months when they split. I refer to them as my "everlasting wellies" Sadly, at this rate I shall never have to buy another pair!!
