I've been looking for a treble trailer for a while (rare as hen's teeth second hand) and finally have had a call from a local dealer saying he is about to take on a used Fautras Promax 3 - about 4 years old going for about £5,500.

Now that's abit above my budget but more importantly does anyone have one and could let me know about them?

I've never actually looked over a Fautras in the flesh so am interested in build quality, ease of operation etc. He said it has the step up/in rear rather than a ramp. I've had a look on the internet but can't seem to find pics other than the Oblic 3 which may have replaced it?

Any views / experience / ideas gladly received!

Thanks guys x

They are made locally to me. I looked at them, but at the time couldnt afford one. However, most people round here use them, albeit the doubles, mostly they are step ups, rather than ramps, I do believe that when used to a step, the horses load well, as the doors give a guide inwards to the horse.I personally have seen the 3 horse model being used by a sole operator, and I have said before that they are designed by a rider FOR a rider, so they must work.I also believe that the towing vehicle must be up to the job.I do think this make is worthy of looking at, even though I went for a double trailer in the end as I only had the one horse.PS, she loaded beautifully in the step up when she tried it!lGood luck

Ive always fancied one of these too but havent got a dealership near enough to see one in the flesh and also got a trailer phobic horse so couldnt take the chance of buying one without trying. I do believe they are fantastically made, with a lifelong rot proof floor. There is a video showing them in use, if you google Fautras trailers but its the Oblique. I dont think they have been replaced by Oblique, maybe they just arent as popular??? The only problem I could see but with the Oblique was the original ones were rear load, unload and Im not sure my fussy horse would be sensible enough to turn in a tight space to unload. They did update it to an Oblique + which had front unload. Im sure the Promax is front unload though.

Ive got one. As far as Im concerned they are the best thing since sliced bread.

I have had mine about 3 years now and it tows like a dream. Horses travel really well and load willingly.

Fantastic, well worth the money
