i put more weight on my right seat bone when riding. its squished down the saddle panel on that side, and its been re-flocked but i dont want it to go back to how it was x now ive discovered it, i notice it generally when sitting down...more weight on right!
im scared to ride in the saddle and have been riding bareback.
trouble is i feel straight! how can i fix this and make sure im sitting evenly? pony rests his right leg quite a bit and now i know why! (more physio for him then haha)
i have a clinic tomorrow which is 3 hours and i need to use my saddle hahha so what can i do to make sure im level? i dont want to hurt pony or saddle :(
will adjusting stirrups help (random idea but might raise up right hip and put weight onto left more haha)
im going to go to a chiropracter but need something to do until then

I would think you need someone watching you to help you correct it. Is your saddle made straight (see my other thread ;))

I shouldn't think bareback was better for the pony tho at least if you have a saddle between you and him you are spreading it out while you work on it. I reckon you will have to accept you will need to work on it then possibly get the saddle amended again as its probably going to be a slow process.

I doubt the stirrup height will help, are they definitely the same length now? Lots of work without stirrups and with a saddle I think and get yourself seen asap.

alot of people favour one side me being one of them severly to the left, to the point where it would shift the saddle slightly.

you are correct in thinking altering stirrups would help but if you do this you do not want to raise the right side stirrup to try and lift the hip you want to lower just one hole or even punch a hole in the middle to just slightly lower the left side. by doing this you will have to sit more to the left to be able to keep you left foot in place.

it might take some adjusting and feel odd at first but it will work. also make sure you have someone to keep an eye from behind or possibly ride with mirrors? this way you can moniter regurlarly when you are sitting correct remember the feeling when you did sit correct and do it again!

its a long uncomfortable process but will help:)

I always used to slip to the right. I basically endured months of riding without stirrups. Instructor would have me hitch knees if to jockey style, shuffle my bum forwards, then I had to close my eyes and think of my seat bones. Once I was sat correctly we would continue work without stirrups. She would stop me every 5 minutes to recheck my position. Did help!

Do you have access to an enclosed arena? If so, ride without stirrups and knot your reins on the pony's neck (so you can grab them in an emergency, but the basic idea is you are riding without stirrups OR reins....) Ride up the centre line from A and ride a 10 metre circle in the same direction as the rein you are on, back to the centre line, then ride a 10 metre circle on the other rein, then at C stay on the same rein, back to A and repeat. Do firstly in walk, then in trot (start with an underpowered trot and work up to full throttle!). You HAVE to stay with your balance in the centre of the saddle with this exercise - I did it ad infinitum when I was recovering from a fractured pelvis and torn right adductor muscles, which made me VERY unlevel! Did feel like I was going to fall off at times, but luckily my pony is a very good physiotherapist!

I'm right sided so my right leg and hip push me on to my left seat bone. I had this illustrated to me very painfully when I wore the wrong knickers (lace trim on bum) and ended up with a very chafed and bleeding left seat after a lesson  I have to really try to focus on relaxing and letting go of my right hip otherwise it takes charge. Check out if your hips are equally flexible ..my right hip goes onto spasm if I try to raise it sideways when I'm on the horse.

I think virtually everyone is uneven naturally. I put more weight into my right stirrup which is my 'correct' side. I have to consciously tell myself to relax my weight down through my left leg so I am even. I find a good way to do this is to ride without my left stirrup for a minute or so and then when I put it back, there is more weight down into that heel. Being aware of our faults is half the battle. If you know what they are then you can keep correcting them. I pretend I have the voice of a trainer in my head, reminding me.

Get a good classical instructor who will spot every position quirk that needs altered to help you and your horse.
Id also see a good massage therapist or chiro to see if your needing realigned.
If you can have a few sessions with an alexander technique person

My pelvis is slightly twisted so I sit wonky. Very noticable when I'm driving, or worse on the mbike! I really have to think about sitting straight when on a horse but when riding regularly get a much better position. Have had work on it a couple of times by a physio friend and much better than it was, so must get it sorted properly sometime.

Definitely worth getting massage/chiro or something. Always feel much straighter after a sports massage!
