Warning this may turn into a rant.
Basically my friend went away on Friday evening until Monday evening and asked if I would look after her horse for her. Not a problem as her mare goes in the same field as my 2.
I did it as a favour and didn't charge her or anything.
Then today I text and ask if I possibly could borrow her horse for a hour tomorrow as someone is coming to try my mare and yesterday I had the shoes taken off my gelding so he is obviously footsore and cannot go out on the road until his feet harden up.
She text back saying if it was up to her she would say yes but her bf won't let anyone else ride her horse. Fair enough it was a cheeky ask.
I have just spoke to my hubby who works with her bf and last night I asked her to bring my 2 in from the field as everything was ready for them. Her bf went to fetch them in and apparently my mare 'attacked him and his mare'. All she did was chase the mare from the gate as she is the boss of the field. He then said that my mare 'attacked' him as she chased his mare up the field.
What they are forgetting is that their mare pulled me over into the mud last week when I was bringing in and in the process kicked my ankle which then swelled up and grazed and bruised my knee. As well as cover me head to toe in mud.
I have got to the point now where I don't really want to do any favours for them as if I ask for the favour to be returned it feels like I am burdening them.
As soon as my mare finds a new loan home, I am going to ask the yo to move my gelding into another field.
