Yesterday I posted about my bad horse day - one of the problems being that I was really concerned about my new boy's breathing. Anyway vet came out this am to do his teeth and gave him a good check over - had me lunge him too. Turns out his chest is a little scratchy probably due to how dusty it is and the fact that due to lack of grazing he's mainly on hay. Will be soaking my hay from now on... Apart from that though, he's got a clean bill of health and the suspicion now is that he's just being lazy! I think it's also that contrast between my nutter of a mare and him - it's making me think he's even slower than he actually is because he's just so laid back which is great for me to get my confidence back.
So, teeth done, farrier been, worming done, just saddle man out next week now and I can hopefully conclude he's just Mr Lazy.
Foxy's leg healing nicely after her barbed wire incident - can't believe the ponies next door are in a field littered with wire, rusting buckets, jagged fence posts, broken pallets etc etc and are fine and my numpty of a mare manages to injure herself on barbed wire that was all neatly fenced off... Sometimes I question my horsey luck :/
