As above really.....in view of all the recent angry and bickering posts re: the poor lady who lost her horse...I know nothing of this other than the original post, I will not get involved as I'm sure many others wont either.

It's obvious to me that many people on this forum know each other and their horses, families personally and I'm beginning to think that these posters should refrain from posting if they know the person concerned. There are loads of angry posts on here where it's obvious the poster has their own axe to grind and theirs history between them and the amount of venom is unbelievable!!!!!

I haven't been on here very long, not like a lot of you, and I'm fast thinking it's not a place I want to be, I THOUGHT THIS PLACE WAS ABOUT HORSES - HORSES DON'T BITCH.
Aggression should not come into the horse world their is enough of it everywhere else!!!!
Please everyone can we all have a nice smiley day

This post is directed at no one person, just the forum in general.

You don't have to join in with 'bickering posts', you don't have to be on the forum at all, it's your choice what you post & what threads you comment on. The forum reflects life in general, there are nice people & there are not so nice people. It would be a very boring place if everyone agreed with everyone else wouldn't it.

I have to agree with you on some points but unfortunately there are so many different people on here it's unlikely we will all have the same opinion.

There have been similar posts before this one saying the same thing and it doesn't make a blind bit of difference.

At the end of the day, it's an open forum and if you're unhappy with it then don't post.

Quite agree
I don't know anyone on this site personnally and that's the way it is going to stay.
I come on it read the posts, comment if I think I can say something usefull, and not comment if I can't. I like reading about other peoples successes and sometimes their not so good days as it makes me feel I am not alone with the issues I have with my ned. That is why it is unlikely you will ever see a picture of my horse or hear me mention his name. I want to be anonymous.
We all adore our horses and their is no need for the bitching that goes on. We are all human and make mistakes, we don't all know everything- though I agree there are a few here who think they do.I know what I know and I am always learning more from here and through experience.

i agree with you , i find it really odd too. It's worse than you tube some days

I think that we don't have to get involved in these posts or even read them. As tempting as it is, nothing in this life is rarely as it should be. Just enjoy the horse posts and ignore the rest.

Its boring on the forum when there aren't any Ding-dongs! Stay in the "I love my pony" threads if you don't like the contentious stuff!

I think airing personal dirty linen in public is bang out of order.

I know several people on here in RL, one in particular has several user names and posts threads containing stuff I know for a fact isn’t true, is complete fabrication or is of a very hypocritical nature as she has been know to do exactly the same thing to others.

However, I would never post a comment on one of her threads making personal comments and airing information that is not relevant to the post itself.

I do find it hard sometimes, I was crying with laughter the other week when she posted something that was a complete fabrication and longed to make some comment on the thread, but left it alone.

The only time I might say something is if someone elses reputation was unfairly being brought into question, but only then.

Mrs Elle, numpty question but....what's RL ?

I also found last nights thread pretty boring so had a good look in vet & stable forums, actually found some good tips in there but I understand where you're coming from as some of the comments can be quite cutting and to the outsider seem fairly immature, this is NOT directed at any one person, also noticed that there are some posters who seem to have that "light the blue touch paper and stand well back" attitude, again not directed at anyone in particular

I think that this forum is a perfect reflection of how people are in general these days, and of course it would be because there is a huge cross section of society represented here.

What I mean by that is that some people are quick to be aggressive, lack basic courtesy and have little regard for people's feelings.

Of course not all people are going to agree but some people just go about disagreeing in a thuggish sort of way.

I think it is great when there is a debate going on, and it makes good reading! It is just sad that some people cannot resist spoiling a good debate by nastiness.

As the others have said stay away from the bickering if you don't like it - it's normally quite easy to spot. Any thread of more than about three pages is quite likely to contain an ongoing barney !!

Also as a general rule posts of this nature tend to have more of an inflamatory than a conciliatory effect. It might just be an idea to bear this in mind given your feeling that this forum should be a 'nice' place!!
