Fed up with horrid thieves!

Can't believe am so fed up - have finally found a little old horsebox to try and get my ned out to learn how to socialise (he is not good in company of strange horses!) - felt really pleased as was little old transit box that I could drive really easily as have never driven a box before and am a bit apprehensive. So owner arranged for MOT and a bit of work to be done, we agree a price, box goes to garage passes MOT and GUESS WHAT - SOMEONE ELSE DECIDED THEY LIKED IT WHILST IT WAS AT THE GARAGE AND NICKED IT. So they got it for free. Now I have to start all over again and all of those plans to have a good summer with my horse have gone out of window - would be the first time in 3 years that he has been well enough to take out - grumble grumble!
 
Awww, I feel so sorry for you.

Was it an expensive trailer?

I have one going for a service soon but its an old rice trailer. not one off these newfangled modern ones. I hope to get it all painted up and out on the road by summer.

Though I do need to find a vehicke to tow it. Im actually thinking off binning the trailer and buying a lorry as Im better with lorries than towing trailers
 
No I luckily hadn't paid for it, was due to pick it up on Saturday, it was a Ford transit 3.5 ton chasis with an IFOR Williams container on the back, so a nice little box, ideal for me to start off with. The owner reckons it was pinched as the container was in pretty good condition - just was a good find will take a while to find another - what a pain just hate the fact some people think they have a right to anything with minimal effort! And just as annoying had put my Land Rover up for sale and paid for Advert as decided against trailer as was convinced I am so hopeless I would jackknife it. So now not sure if should sell land rover in case need to tow trailer if I can find one to hire and take towing lessons!!!! Just as annoyed I have to think about it all again! So much sympathy required from everyone please!!!
 
Poor you but I would hang onto your landrover and get a trailer anyway. It is possible to get trailer towing lessons and it really isn't as difficult as you think. If you have somewhere with open space you can practise manouevring, you'll get the hang in no time. I'd never towed before I got my first trailer but inspired by a firend, I just hitched up and went for it (without horse on board though!)
 
Luckily the person who lost the horsebox is going to be repaid by the garage it was nicked from under their insurance so he should be ok. I hope so anyway as he was a nice chap.

I may give the trailer option a go if I feel brave, hope Ryan doesn't end up wedged on a hill somewhere!
 
How horrible. I just cannot understand the mentality of thieves. I had my electric fencing stolen a couple of years ago. It makes you feel so angry. Its not just the money, its the fact that someone came onto your property (or the garages in your case) and dared to take something that is yours, that you worked for and paid for and that you will now have to replace. Grrrrrrrrrrrr
 
Some swine came onto my driveway and nicked one wheel and attempted to nick another off my Disco! Then a day later broke into my chickens and nicked their eggs (they didn't lay for days after that!), then a couple of months ago another light fingered little sod nicked one of my wabbits, mind you they saw the light and put her back!
I wish we could chop their theiving little paws off!!!!
 
My sister late last year brought a brand new I F W trailer, went to collect the trailer an hour away, brought it back to her yard, in a village (you would'nt no the stables where there as very well hiden & no though roads go pass the stables) locked the trailer all up, wheel lock & all, went home.... went up the stables the next day and gone, a brand new never been used I F W trailer. the police say that she would have been followed from collection of the trailer to her stable in other words it was all planed by who they will never no!!!!
