Ok, the tie-back and hobday op is looming, 21st Feb. Didn't cross my mind til now, but what do I feed when he comes home convalesing? I can imagine he will have a sore throat along with a hole!
Will he be able to eat haylage/hay? What about hard feed?
I was thinking along the lines of soaked (to a mush) baileys no4, fibre beet and some bran?
Advice please xx thanks

I cant remember feeding any different when I worked in the clinic. The feed was dampened and hay soaked and thats about all. I always felt sorry for them after being hobdayed. Feed time would arrive, they would winny as normal, but... no or very little sound would come out! Poor souls always looked surprised and would clear their throats to have another go. Id keep him on a light diet with lots of warm treacley water added. Good luck to you both. Mairi.
