I have a very good doer who has come out in lumps this evening. The only change in diet has been the addition of oats about 2 weeks ago, to support his increase in work and to give him a bit of extra oomph ready for Oasby.
So I am a bit panicked, as I need to get rid of the bumps, but still need the oomph for next weekend! Can anyone recommend an oat free high energy mix? or any other suggestions?

Grateful for any ideas

I would take him off the oats and see how he goes. If he is better then it is def the oats.

Instead of oats you could consider maize or barley.

what do you normally feed him? I have a TB who's allergic to barley, but he's never reacted to any kind of cube so it might be worthwile trying your horse on a high energy cube?
