Having just got home, have now been told we are meeting up with other owners in 1 hour to talk about the beast!
Main topic is feed, we are planning on introducing some feed supplements to his diet as, at 15, he is getting stiffer(very 'clicky'!) - more joint trouble than muscles really- and his hooves are not great- they are quite cracked and dry, and we don't use hoof oil as it dries them out more (he's also a bit of a fidget, so not great at having things applied!). Any ideas?
And in general would like some more vits and mins to help with allround health and appearance, so garlic, and maybe seaweed- how does that sound?
I talked to a few feed specialists on the stalls at Burghley, but have practically forgotten it all now!! Thanks
PS Can't feed anything heating!!

My oldest horse is 29 and has great feet. He piles on the pounds in summer and one year his feet started to crack..My vet said it was a problem of nutrition. He is fed 365 days a year but I vary what I feed.

D&H 16 + always. S/B and chaff always - light in summer and Alfa A winter. I only ever use Biotin - Equimins is best value.

For stiffness he wears leg magnets.

Still hacking at 29 going on 30
