Hi all
I am looking for feed recommendations which will not fizz my horse up at all but at the same time, provide some calories and he isn’t the best doer.
When he came I put him on Alfa A which sent him a bit loopy, then I put him on to bran mash and nuts but was told it isn’t good to feed bran everyday but he was brilliant on this but again this wasn’t really giving him much condition, so then I tried him on the top spec balancer and grass chaff which he was ok on but still a little fizzy. My mum (stupidly) started him on some calm and condition and this sent him absolutely nuts he has been taken off that now and back on the top spec balancer and grass but he’s still a little sharper than he was on just the bran and pony nuts so after some advise please…
Spring grass most likely has a part to play in his antics at the moment, he has a nice big field and also on haylage which is quite rich. Im starting to think maybe popping him out at night would burn some of that energy off
