there are so many out there, which is the best one?
which ones do everyone feed?

I got a leaflet through from Blue Chip yesterday, and the OH had a good look through it and now wants us to feed one- I'm glad he does, I was going to ask him about it this week, but wasn't looking forwards to telling him how much more it'd cost!

(I did explain that due to you needing to feed less,as it's concentrated, a bag lasted longer.)

So, I've only looked at Blue Chip so far, but I'll go and to some interweb searches for other ones.

It'd be for a 16.1hh TB, who gets fizzy, and a 15hh 18yo.
 
I have recently tried Top Spec but find Blue Chip suits the ones i use it on better. Top-spec is good but as i have used Blue Chip before i have noticed a difference. Different horses do better on different things tho. I have never found Blue chip make a horse fizzy. I have had explodeing fizzy horses on it and they do actually seem calmer.
 
I use lo-cal and found it has quickly bulked out and put topline on my TB mare. She can be fizzy, but lo-cal doesn't effect this. I am currently feeding just hifi, sugarbeet and lo-cal and she's looking really good. Wish I'd tried this combination over the winter as she's looking better and it's much cheaper!
I haven't tried blue chip as lo-cal is doing the job for a fraction of the price! A bag lasts around 6wks.
 
I've fed Baileys Low cal for years and swear by it, both my horses did well on it and Ralph still has it, he's blooming

I used blue chip and saw an amazing difference, until my feed merchant stopped selling it as they said everyone was going onto TopSpec, so I swapped and thought it did equally well. I am currently considering swapping to Lo-cal to feed throughout the summer alongside grass, but haven't done my research yet!

You don't need to feed much of it, and you can considerably cut down on other feeds... and you don't need to feed any other vit supplements etc that you may have used, so its not as expensive as it first appears.
 
Top Spec balancer in the winter and Anti-Lam in the summer. Tbh, my horse looks/acts so good on it that I've never bothered to try other brands.
 
The top spec has full hoof supplement which is good for tbs thats why I changed and for the first time in ages farrier had to trim his feet.
