Has anyone got a bin that can take a whole bag of chaff? Topchop zero to be precise. I can get 1/2 bag in my dustbin but we appear to have a rat who is then nibbling through the plastic bag with the rest in.

Ideally something I can just place the whole bag in as tipping it out into the bin makes me sneeze!

What about a wheelie bin or have known people to use the old chest freezers to store feed in, I currently squash my chaff into 2 decent sized dustbins so I am sure an average bag would fit into 2 maybe just buy one more.

How big is a bag of Top Chop Zero? I can get a bag of Dengie HiFi Lite in a black dustbin. Here's how I do it - keeping bag closed - lay bag on the floor on it's side. Apply lots of pressure up and down it's length to squash it into a more cylindrical shape - drop bag into bin - then sit down very hard onto the bag several times. I find it fits into the bin just right. Mind you - with my a**e crashing down on it, it doesn't have a lot of choice.

So that's what I need to do then! Will give it a go on Sunday when I pick up a new bag (after making sure there is no one around..)

I did think wheelie bin but our feed room is quite small - which is what puts me off putting another dustbin in there. I take up quite a lot of room already. Will try the squishing technique first. At least the rat can have a good giggle!
