Good evening all :)

I am just googling/looking into buying some more feed bins, and those I am looking at are described as "80/85 litre" and "110 litre" in size.

Please could someone give me a rough idea of what the average old style dustbin is, with regards to these sizes, and what your typical, metal style, proper horse feed bin is?

I am especially wondering about what kind of capacity you would need for a 20kg bale of chaff, and a singular bag of mix/cubes.

Thanks in advance :)

Well this is rather unscientific, but a 20kg bag of chaff (HiFi type) fits into 2 bog standard black plastic dustbins which I'm pretty certain are about 80l capacity. Nuts - you can fit 2 x 20kg sacks into 1 bin. Mixes - I recall they were very inconvenient and it was about 1 1/2 sacks per bin...

From my very distant memory, the galvanised metal feed bin took 1 sack chaff in one compartment, but I'm not sure how much the other compartments held, I guess work on the information I've given above and double the quantities given for black dustbins?

I hope thats the sort of answer you were hoping for?
