I'm giving both my mares yea sacc and one slippery elm (was previously diagnosed with ulcers). Neither need feed as look v well on 24/7 grass and I don't want to give my mare with ulcers anything with sugar. I'm currently carrying supplements in an unmolassed alfalfa chaff (alfalfa for the ulcers). They're not keen at all! Any suggestions please what I could give them to make it more palatable without adding molass? I've considered some unmolassed beet pulp?

Fast fibre is good for carrying supplements; it soaks to a mash so the supplement sticks to it and is low sugar/starch so good for laminitic or ulcer prone horses. It's low calorie too. You could mix the alfalfa in with it.
