My 17.1 11yo TB gelding who normally doesn’t turn a hair whilst we’re out hacking has suddenly decided to explode at the smallest thing… I’m bringing him back into work after some time off, we have a new saddle which has hugely improved his way of going.
I started adding flaxseed oil (slowly up to 100ml) a couple of months ago and I can only assume it’s that making him mental, although I know it’s supposed to be non-heating. I feed 3 scoops Alfa A Molasses-Free and 2 scoops Speedi-Beet plus Bailey’s original balancer (this also could be making him fizzy but he’s been on this for ages). He’s also been on the Alfa-A since I’ve had him and was totally fine.
He was in horrendous condition when I got him a year and a half ago but he’s finally looking like a horse, someone at my yard mentioned Triple Crown but it’s not available in the UK, I’m having to feed so much to keep condition on him so if anyone has any suggestions/advice I’d be grateful!
